The firm also announces an annual profit share for the year of 17.7% – its FY24 profit share was 16.6%. Signature’s profit share is paid to all members of the firm as part of its fixed profit-sharing model, which has no discretionary element. The firm’s model has, from its formation, transferred economic ownership of the firm away from equity partners to every member of the practice.
CEO Kevin Munslow said, “We remain steadfast in our approach to building a business that continuously delivers on the aspirations of our members, sharing successes with all colleagues without discretion or variation.”
In July, Signature announced the appointments of two partners in Paris, Laurent Martinet – who joined from Paul Hastings – and Ela Barda, who was promoted from counsel, as well as the launch of its white collar crime practice and investigations practice, spearheaded from London by new partners Mark Beardsworth and Duncan Grieve.
Laurent Martinet has more than 30 years of experience in handling multi-jurisdictional, complex commercial disputes, and acts for a broad range of French and international companies operating in the chemical, energy, new technologies, automotive and finance sectors. New partner Ela Barda joined Signature Litigation in 2019 as an associate and was part of the team who launched the firm in Paris, before being promoted to senior associate in 2020 and counsel in 2023. She specialises in commercial litigation, asset tracing, and enforcement matters, and she has increasingly developed specific expertise in relation to digital platform law.
Mark Beardsworth and Duncan Grieve – who joined from Goodwin Proctor and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft respectively – bring with them several decades of global white collar crime and investigations expertise. Mark Beardsworth has a 25-year track record of successful representations of individuals and corporates in many major Serious Fraud Office investigations, including IKEA, BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, LIBOR/EURIBOR, Forex, Independent Insurance, G4S Serco, Sweett Group, Barclays Qatar, and Tysers Integro. Duncan Grieve has deep experience in leading cross-border investigations involving issues in foreign jurisdictions. He has leading experience in Brazil, Portugal, and Lusophone Africa and his expertise in relation to work emanating from Latin America dovetails with the market leading practices of Signature’s broader team, spanning commercial litigation and international arbitration.
Founding Partner Graham Huntley commented, “We can only be proud that we have a co-operative system that continues to deliver our goals and economic benefits for everyone, without exception or discretion. It is particularly rewarding to see this generating growth and increased profitability across all of our offices. Our challenge remains to protect our system through careful hiring and promotion of personnel who are aligned to the co-operative’s culture and goals”
