Laurent Martinet

Laurent is a Partner at Signature Litigation’s Paris office specialising in international corporate and commercial litigation, with particular experience in multijurisdictional proceedings.

With over 20 years’ experience, Laurent handles complex, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes, coordinating procedures and defence strategies for companies in the chemical, energy, new technology, automotive and finance sectors.

Laurent’s practice focuses on disputes involving contractual and tort liability, industrial risks and product liability. He also handles regulatory litigation in the energy sector, shareholder disputes, management liability litigation and post-M&S litigation.

While particularly known for his expertise in France, Laurent’s experience spans many geographical regions, including Lebanon and the broader Middle East.

Laurent is ranked in Chambers France for Litigation: Elite, and is described as “an excellent lawyer”, with one commentator praising his “great sense for clients’ needs and very pragmatic approach.”

In The Legal 500 EMEA 2026 Guide praises Laurent as “pleasant to work with, knowledgeable and connected with the French legal world and Paris bar, and he is also adept at working with US attorneys and companies.” A previous edition of the Guide notes his “extensive litigation experience and quality of pleading” and his “good understanding of very technical subjects“, “speed of execution” and “great availability.”

Laurent joined Signature Litigation from Paul Hastings, where he was a Partner. His career also includes roles as a Trial, Investigations and Securities Partner at Dechert LLP and 15 years at Jones Day, where he was Partner and Head of the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Practice.

Laurent also served as Vice-Président of Conseil National des Barreaux (National Council of Bars) (2021 – 2023), Vice-Bâtonnier de Paris (Vice-President of the Paris Bar Association) (2014 – 2015) and Président de la Fondation Chaillot-Théâtre national de la Danse (National Dance Theatre Foundation).
