Kyle is an Associate in Signature Litigation’s London office, specialising in investigations and white collar crime.

An Australian-qualified disputes lawyer with more than five years’ experience, he acts in high-stakes disputes representing both government and private clients. His practice spans complex contentious matters including litigation, arbitration, regulatory enforcement, inquiries and investigations into whistleblowing, fraud, and misconduct.

Kyle has particular experience in the energy and resources, telecommunications, marine pilotage, construction, and property and resort development sectors, as well as in disputes involving joint venture arrangements and alleged breaches of companies and financial services legislation.

Prior to joining Signature Litigation, Kyle practised in the Dispute Resolution team at Ashurst and trained at Allens in its Disputes and Investigations Practice Group.

Kyle was admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2020.

 Investigations and White Collar Crime

  • Assisting a large, international organisation listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, in an investigation in response to whistleblower allegations of historical fraud and misconduct.
  • Advising a former financial adviser of an FCA regulated firm, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange FSTE 250, with respect to a police investigation by the Serious Economic Crime Unit in relation to various allegations made by the firm concerning my client’s conduct as an adviser.

Commercial Litigation

  • Representing subsidiaries of an Australian coal exporter in various litigated insurance claims, including preparing quantum and liability advices, working with insurers, appearing at settlement conferences / mediations, making submissions and negotiating settlements.
  • Representing a leading Australian maritime pilotage service provider in proceedings relating to alleged misleading and deceptive conduct, as well as securing urgent injunctive relief to restrain a breach of contract.
  • Representing a major Australian oil and gas company in proceedings relating to a multimillion-dollar dispute with a joint venture party concerning legal and equitable interests in mining tenements and joint venture property.
  • Representing an Australian property development consortium in proceedings concerning a multimillion-dollar contractual dispute relating to the development of a major resort project.

Regulatory Compliance and follow-on litigation

  • Representing an Australian financial services regulatory body in proceedings relating to alleged breaches of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) by cryptocurrency / blockchain mining companies operating in Australia and abroad.
  • Assisting a large Australian corporation in its regulatory response to a major cybersecurity incident.
