Jérémie is a Partner at Signature Litigation’s Paris office specialising in complex corporate, financial and commercial litigation.

Jérémie’s practice is primarily focused on M&A litigation, shareholder disputes and corporate governance matters.

Having practised in both Paris and London, Jérémie advises a broad range of French and international companies. He represents clients across all stages of a dispute, from pre-litigation strategic advice, litigation, arbitration, and mediation.

Jérémie began his career in the dispute resolution department at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He later founded and managed a leading French dispute resolution boutique for eight years before joining Signature Litigation.

Jérémie is ranked for his dispute resolution expertise in the commercial litigation category of The Legal 500 EMEA Guide. He has also been recognised in Best Lawyers, Le Point and Décideurs Magazine rankings. The Legal 500 describes him as a “class act”, “very commercial and client-focused”, and as having “great understanding and analyses, while taking into account the personality of clients.” He is also praised for his “acute and comprehensive understanding of the real issues and challenges faced by [his] clients.”

Jérémie has also lectured for several years at Paris Panthéon-Assas University, where he teaches courses relating to mediation, corporate law and complex dispute resolution clauses. He has authored numerous publications including Corporate Internal Investigations, An International Guide (Oxford University Press), and Swap Contracts and Insolvency Law (Cahiers de droit de l’entreprise). He has often interviewed on various topics, including Mediation, Corporate Governance and Geopolitics, ESG-related disputes, and Private Equity-related issues. He regularly organises events on cutting edge legal topics, including the Impact of Geopolitics on General Meetings of Listed Companies, Shareholder Dialogue, International Arbitration and Blocking Statutes, The Hague Rules on Business and Human Rights Arbitration.

Jérémie is a member of the association Paris Place de Droit, the Cercle des Administrateurs and other think tanks. He heads the École Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) group of Alumni active in the legal sector.

Jérémie graduated from ESSEC Business School and holds postgraduate degrees in Business and Tax Law from University Paris Panthéon – Assas, and in Private International Law and International Commercial Law from University Paris 1 – La Sorbonne.

Jérémie is fluent in both French and English. Jérémie is admitted to the Paris Bar.

  • Assisting a leading financial institution seeking compensation through negotiation for a breach of contract by one of its main suppliers of financial services.
  • Review and assessment of a portfolio of claims filed against a major oil & gas company in the context of the sale of one of its main subsidiaries in Africa.

Corporate Disputes

  • Representing a leading private equity fund in a complex dispute hindering the sale of its participation.
  • Representing high-profile minority shareholders in a listed European technology company in a major dispute against the management of the company.
  • Representing two leading private equity funds, controlled by the same high-net-worth individual, in a dispute against the manager and majority shareholder concerning a stake in a French listed company.
  • Representing a family office in the context of a major fraud in a listed company.
  • Representing the founding partner and main shareholder of a leading French technology company in the context of a fraud to its resale rights.
  • Representing the minority shareholders of a regional healthcare company in a complex shareholder dispute.
  • Representing a global healthcare and life science company in a high-value dispute concerning the alleged wrongful termination of a negotiation for the acquisition of a target company.

  • Representing a leading investment bank in relation to a breach of contract.

Criminal Disputes

  • Representing employees of a French construction company in relation to the alleged breach of the rules governing public tender offers.
  • Representing a major healthcare company before criminal courts following the alleged poisoning of employees.

Investigations

  • Representing a supplier in the automotive industry following the discovery of numerous performance tests altered by its employees.
  • Representing a prominent French energy company following the discovery of fraudulent compliance certificates delivered by one of its foreign suppliers for many years.
  • Representing a minority shareholder in the context of an alleged fraud performed by the general manager and majority shareholder.

Mediation

  • Representing numerous clients in the healthcare, financial and energy sectors in the resolution of corporate, financial and contractual disputes through mediation.

Enforcement

  • Representing a major French financial institution in the seizure of assets (significant wine bottle stock) against one of its debtors.
