Dominik is a Counsel at Signature Litigation’s Frankfurt office, specialising in complex disputes in the construction, energy and infrastructure sector.

He has extensive experience advising and representing clients in litigation, arbitration (including ICC, DIS and SCC) and out-of-court proceedings. Dominik regularly handles complex disputes involving claims for (liquidated) delay damages, additional costs, extensions of time and the rectification of defects.

Before joining Signature Litigation, Dominik was an Associate at Linklaters’ Frankfurt Office. Dominik spent part of his legal training in the legal department of a DAX40 company, and he completed an LL.M. in Commercial Law at Pembroke College, Cambridge in 2021.

Dominik is a member of the Frankfurt bar and the DIS40 – the German Initiative of Young Arbitration Practitioners. He works in both German and English.

  • Advising a wind farm developer on delays in the construction of an offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
  • Representing a German energy company in litigation regarding additional costs in the construction of a power plant.
  • Advising a German technology company on an ICC arbitration regarding outstanding remuneration claims against an Italian EPC contractor in connection with the construction of a chemical plant.
  • Advising a renewable energy fund manager in connection with delays in the construction of an offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
  • Advising a real estate company on remuneration claims under a general contractor agreement in connection with the construction of a shopping centre.
  • Advising a German energy technology company on remuneration claims and defending against claims for liquidated damages in connection with the construction of a power plant in Russia.
  • Advising a manufacturer of foundation structures regarding remuneration claims and alleged defects in connections with the construction of a solar park.

Commercial Arbitration

  • Representing an international energy company in an ICC arbitration against an Austrian Transmission System Operator regarding the nullity and termination of a long-term gas transportation contract.
  • Representing a German energy technology company in an ICC arbitration (including emergency arbitration) against a Russian company in connection with a parent company guarantee.
  • Representing an international wind farm developer in an arbitration under the rules of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS) to enforce a performance bond, including subsequent enforcement and set-aside proceedings.
  • Representing a technology company in SCC (Stockholm) emergency arbitration proceedings.
  • Representing a client in DIS arbitration concerning a post-M&A dispute in the education sector.

Energy Disputes

  • Representing a German energy company in connection with claims for compensation and damages under two long-term power supply agreements.
  • Representing several German energy companies in civil litigation and regulatory proceedings concerning the levy of surplus revenue under the German Electricity Price Cap Act.
  • Representing a German energy company in connection with the dissolution of two joint venture agreements.
  • Advising a German energy company on claims arising from the delayed provision of a reserve power plant.

Commercial Disputes

  • Advising and representing companies and banks in connection with bank guarantees on first demand.
  • Advising and representing several international companies in connection with the defence against claims by Russian entities before Russian state courts, following the imposition of EU sanctions.
